Brand Name: Generics only. No brands available.


Dandelion is used for:

Stomach acidity, stomach fullness and gas, to improve appetite, and blood circulation. It has also been used for indigestion, urinary tract infection, and kidney stones. It may also have other uses. Check with your pharmacist for more details regarding the particular brand you use.


Dandelion is an herbal product. It works in the liver and gallbladder to remove waste in the body.


Do NOT use Dandelion if:


  • you are allergic to any ingredient in Dandelion

  • you have bile duct or intestinal blockage

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.



Before using Dandelion:


Some medical conditions may interact with Dandelion. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:


  • if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding

  • if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

  • if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

  • if you have diabetes or gallbladder problems

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Dandelion. However, no specific interactions are known at this time.

How to use Dandelion:

  • If you miss taking a dose of Dandelion for 1 or more days, there is no cause for concern. If your doctor recommended that you take it, try to remember your dose every day.

  • If your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse, check with your doctor.

  • Check with your doctor if stomach acidity becomes a problem or is bothersome.

Possible side effects of Dandelion:


All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:



Stomach discomfort.



Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); diarrhea; persistent stomach or abdominal pain.
